For those of you new & old, here is some info on Game Days at the Irish Hound to keep in mind:
Where Do I Park
Parking on St. Paul, in front of the Hound between 6th & 5th is limited & has time restrictions. Parking is available with out time restrictions to the surrounding streets NORTH of 6th (between 6th & 7th, ex: Milwaukee, Steele, Fillmore) as well as along 6th. This is all a residential area so please be considerate to the people who live in these areas!
Where's my Server? Do I order at the Bar?
PLEASE DO NOT crowd
the bar area. The Bartenders at the Hound also work the floor and
will frequently circle the place to wait on the tables as well. If
you crowd the bar, you make it difficult for them to get out around to
the tables as well as block the view of others. (PS - don't forget to
tip your bartenders!)
Where do I sit?
If you come in and see a few big tables with
just a few folks at it, don't be a stranger! Introduce yourself & grab
a seat (if they aren't using the whole table). The reverse also
applies - if you sit at a big table but don't need all the other
seats, please welcome people to sit with you. The Main room will be
high bar-tops and mostly standing room with the bigger tables to the
side rooms & pool room.
We're going to be having some fun bonus events/activities tied in with
Game Days so keep your eyes out for details each week!!
2012 SEC Picnic @ Eisenhower Park
It's time for the biggest SEC Event of the year!! The SEC Picnic! Come decked out in your Bama Gear to show your ROLL TIDE pride to mix & mingle with your fellow fans & SEC friends. Last year was the biggest picnic ever,let’s do it again this year. Bring your kids for a chance to smack the LSU pinata! For the newbies, this is the best chance to meet your fellow Bama Fans & meet some game watching friends!PLEASE BE SURE TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO ALL OF THE DETAILS BELOW.
Where
Due to the addition of two schools to our conference, we will be located in Mamie D Eisenhower Park this year, and will be setting up in the area at intersection of Dartmouth and Highline. This park is located near University Hills, off S. Colorado & Dartmouth, near Wellshire Golf Course. This park is much easier to access parking wise with lots of room. When
Sat. Aug. 25th. The fun will start at noon. Food service will be~12:30-2:30.
FOOD!!!
This year the caterer will be Alabama's own Jim N’ Nicks BBQ!
We'll have pork and chicken, 3 sides, bread, dessert, sweet (and unsweet) tea,and water.
COST: $17 A PERSON which includes food & complimentary beer for 21+ (we will be carding); KIDS UNDER 10 EAT FREE
**You will be required to show a wrist band for beer & you must present a ticket to get the food. These will be given to you when you check in with Dani at the picnic in the Bama Seciton.**
PAYMENT DEADLINE: FRIDAY AUGUST 10TH.
***VERY IMPORTANT**** YOU MUST HAVE PAYMENT TO ME BY THE 10TH. WE MUST have a firm headcount to make sure that enough food is provided so we cannot accomodate walk-ups. If you have friends with other clubs, or people you are looking to invite along, please pass this info along as every year we have a few sad faces who missed out on getting their ticket. Tickets are non-refundable.
OTHER DETAILS:
- All are welcome to attend!! Please feel free to drop in even if you are not interested purchasing a ticket for food/beer should you care to enjoy your own picnic food, OR if you miss out on getting a ticket.
- Bring your picnic blankets, chairs, etc! There will be a few tables about but they are subject to availability.
- Bring your picnic games!
- Bring your Bama Gear! If you have fun (& friendly!) Bama signs, bring them out!
- Bring your kids! There will be a pinata for the kids to take a whack at later in the afternoon.
- We cannot sell bands just for beer. If you do not wish to enjoy the food, please bring your own beer.

2011-12 Scholarship Recipient
I'm pleased to announce our 2011-2012 Scholarship Recipient is Richard Jenkins from Ft. Lupton, CO. Richard is an outstanding Honor Roll student as well as an amazing volunteer in his community and student athlete.
Our scholarship efforts are maintained by your donations to the University & for maintaining your National Alumni Status. Please continue to donate, and/or if you are an alum, be sure to keep active so that we can continue to support great students in Colorado to pursue their education & future at the University of Alabama.
Additionally, I would like to recognize the Little Pub Company & the Irish Hound for their support & contribution too. Thanks to them for being our football watching home & extended family!
2011 SEC PICNIC @ WASH PARK
Football season is ALMOST HERE!! Which means it is almost time for thebig SEC Picnic Event!
This is the event you don't want to miss as it is a great chance to meet & mingle with the people you'll be seeing around at football viewing parties, but also a good way to meet good southern folks with the other clubs as well. Last year we had a huge turnout of over 350 people for the whole SEC.
THE DETAILS:
Date: August 27th, 2011
Time: 12 PM MT - 5 PM MT
Location: Wash Park -- we will set up the main part on picnic site #3
COST: $17 A PERSON; KIDS UNDER 10 EAT FREE
Your Ticket covers the following food options from Big Papa's BBQ as well as beer:
· Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork and Hickory Smoked Brisket
· Mac n Cheese, BBQ Beans, Cole Slaw and Greens
· All four of their regional BBQ Sauces
· Dessert will be Brownies
· Bread will be sliced to order for each guest
· Tea, Sweet Tea and Water will be served as beverages

Denver Area Alum Featured
For those of you who get the Alabama Alumni Magazine, our very own local member & former president, Dan Riley is featured on page 15 of the Fall 2010 edition, Association News on "Giving Back."
The article talks about Dan's extensive involvement with scholarship for the University.
Dan established the Denver chapter and the SEC Picnic. He is a statistician for the CU Buffs & Denver Broncos so sadly he doesn't make it to many of our game watching parties, but hopefully some of you were able to meet him at the picnic.
It's a nice article that I will scan and post soon.
Congrats to Dan for his recognition and dedication to the University of Alabama!!
